Da ist wohl dein Fehler...

Ich glaube, ProFTPD ist seit Debian 3.1 ziemlich Buggy geworden. Ich überlege langsam, auf einen anderen FTP-Server umzusteigen. Bei mir klappen auch nur die Hälfte aller Logins, immer mit dem selben Username... Und das auch erst seit dem neuen ProFTPD. Zudem weiß hier im Forum auch keiner eine Antwort auf meine Frage ("FTP-Verbindung scheitert")...

In deiner Config stehen die falschen Gruppendaten

"Group ftpuser" muss es heissen.

Außerdem hast du
"RequireValidShell on",

wenn du nun einen User mit der Shell "/bin/false" machst (was ja keine Shell ist), wird der Zugang verweigert! -> also "RequireValidShell off"!
