How to give users ftp acces?

Hello,

I have installed proftpd and configured everything good i think. But when i add users with the command:

addusers -s/bin/ftp username i get no result the ftp program says it found the ftp server but the login is incorrect. I also restarted inted.d but also no result.

So what is the proper command to add users so they can acces ftp. Also i dont think i have a folder called ftp in my bin directory so do i need it or will it be created and if so how can i add it.

Hope someone can help me.
