Mein Router ist auf DHCP eingestellt, gestern war ein Kumpel mit seinem Notebook hier und der hat eine IP bekommen, sein Notebook war auf DHCP eingestellt.

Was könnte ich nun machen, soll ich mal versuchen über YAST meine Wlan einzurichten?

Der hat die DHCP-Adresse vlt. automatisch gesucht, Du musst die richtige von Hand eintragen.

Du kannst zumindest mal versuchen, mit Yast dem Stick DHCP beizubringen.

Entweder DHCP (= Vollautomatik) oder manuell. Wenn man DHCP wählt, darf man nichts "richtiges" mehr von Hand eintragen.

hab mal meinen PC neu gestartet und musst mit Hilfe von ifconfig rausb0 up einbinden.

Mit Yast hat es leider nicht geholfen DHCP einzurichten.

Soll ich mit Hilfe von YAST manuell einrichten?

In einem vorherigen Auszug war folgendes zu sehen:

Dein USB-Stick wird also vom NetworkManager verwaltet. Ich kenne den NetworkManager allerdings überhaupt nicht und kann dir damit leider überhaupt nicht weiter helfen.

Vermutlich wirst du irgendwo in der Taskleiste ein kleines Netzwerksymbol, über das du die Karte(n) konfigurieren kannst.

Och nöh, boot.msg ist nicht das, was ich suche.

Du sollst selbst mal schauen, ob du das Wort NetworkManager in der Datei /var/log/messages findest. So schwer kann es doch gar nicht sein, die Meldungen zu verstehen.

Vor allem, bei solchen Fehlersuchaktionen muß immer eine Konsole mitlaufen, in der du den Befehl tail -f /var/log/messages laufen läßt. Wenn du dann den Stick abziehst und aufsteckst. siehst du doch unmittelbar, was passiert.

Wenn da dann error steht, ist eben was schief gelaufen.

Mit 600 Zeilen boot.msg fange ich jedenfalls nicht viel an und ein gewisses Maß an Mitarbeit, das ein wenig darüber hinaus geht, hunderte von Zeilen von Protokoll hier rein zu werfen und "und nun?" hinter zu schreiben, erwarte ich dann doch.

Also, wir sind soweit, daß die Funkverbindung steht (ist ja mit iwconfig bewiesen).

Wir haben aber keine IP-Adresse für rausb0, das heißt, daß die Netzwerkschnittstelle rausb0 ohne DHCP konfiguriert ist. Ich hoffe auch zu wissen, daß sich in deinem bzw. SuSEs Fall der NetworkManager um das Netzwerk kümmert, das hoffte ich, in /var/log/messages zu erfahren. Dieser ominöse NetworkManager ist ein Stück Software, das gerne von neueren Linuxdistributionen eingesetzt wird und dem Nutzer die Konfiguration erleichtern soll.

Wie es mit dem Networkmanager aber weiter geht, weiß ich leider nicht. Ich kenne das Ding nicht. Ruf halt den NetworkManager mal auf (wie? keine Ahnung ) und stell dort rausb0 auf "IP-Adresse automatisch beziehen" ein (sollte es den Punkt nicht geben, so heißt er vielleicht DHCP).

Zum Networkmanager, den kenn ich auch erst seit kurzem. Untern in der Menüleiste kann man ihn leider nicht einrichten. Müsste mal schauen, ob man ihn in der konsole einrichten kann.


Noch was wenn ich lsmod aufrufe, wird auch der treiber rt2500 geladen, kann es sein, dass das er mit dem rt73 in konkurrenz steht? Im Yast wird der rt73 angezeigt.
