A couple people PMd me about a
demonoid crawler and since there don't seem to be any around I wrote some
basic code for it. This is very barebones. Demonoid has category pages to browse, which list 50 torrents per page. This code gets the basic links and torrent names for all 50. You will have to manually edit the $url each time you run it for different pages. For example the first 50 listed torrents in the anime category are at "http://www.demonoid.com/files/?uid=0&category=9&subcategory=0&language=0&seeded=0&quality=0&external=2&query=&sort=&page=1" so for the torrents on the next page (51-100) you'd change the 1 at the end of the url to 2. Obviously you'll have to build a bit on this if you want it to download torrents and drop info into a database. If you do, feel free to post it eh.  demonoid.php ( 656bytes ) Number of

demonoid requires you to login to
download torrents otherwise it limits the amount you can download, i think
it was 25 a day.

I'd rather not post my login info haha, but if you're a member run the script from the same IP you're logged in as and you can download more than 25. I didn't really take into consideration the 25 torrent download limit for non members, so sorry about that. I was Just pounding out some quick code after I got the PMs. So I suppose that because of the download limits, this would be ok code for a site with a format like torrentz.com. |
