Uh, no. I've done it privately. No one has seen it but myself and NovaKing. I'll put it up somewhere for people to look at and they can decide if they want to use it, but it will of course be licensed the same as TorrentFlux, even though the GPL does give the right to sell derivative work as long as the source is included AFAIK, but I will not be doing that. No worries mate, relax. :-)

Looks nice, any idea when you'll be releasing? I'd like to check it out.

OK great....others did some good hacks and they were generous to post it here. And I am sure that many more made good private hacks but kept the information to themselves and they have the right to do that…but at the same time they did not come here criticizing others' work without showing any help or offering anything…thanx for letting us see your work it is good to see that you are willing to share....

and I am relaxed  Wink

Thnx,

PiForever,

I take offense at you insinuating that I came here criticizing other's work. I did no such thing. I was delighted to look at steveholt's implementation considering how little bandwidth it consumed. Unfortunately, I noticed some flaws in the implementation that I came here and outlined. I did not do it in a critical fashion, I was merely presenting a situation to steveholt in which his implementation didn't work quite right. People need to be able to come here and report bugs and flaws in code in order for the community to function, and its unfair to say I came here criticizing other's work when none of my posts to steveholt had that tone. Secondly, I am not keeping the work to myself for any reason other than the fact that I am not satisfied with it. I said in one of my earlier posts that I definately plan on releasing it soon, but not until it works to my satisfaction. For example, right now several things are not functional. The offline/online users do not ever update, and on dir.php the delete button doesn't do anything. Also, certain pages from TF2.1 on the admin page (such as queue settings) having been themed to match what you see in the screenshot. Also, I did offer steveholt help. I told him what exactly how I made my implementation. He should have no problem trying it himself. It's actually much simpler than the complex (and impressive) work he did himself. So please, in the future, do not post and be critical of others (including myself) in this manner, I have done nothing to deserve it.

If anyone want's to PM me for a copy of it, I'll be willing to give it to a select few that know what they are doing and can submit bug reports.

Hi Muffin,

Great work on TorrentJax. I think you may have the right way to go, as creating a fork using ajax is probably easier than trying to allow torrentflux to have both ajax and non-ajax options. This way people can decide whether they want ajax or not, and install whichever they like. I just hope your not going to stray too far from the original, so that new functionality in torrentflux will make it's way into torrentjax and vice versa. Smiley

I definitely like your screenshot, it's looking very good. Is this you: http://www.torrentjax.com/? Are you planning on having a forum like this one where users/developers can meet and discuss ideas? Do you have a planned release date?

I have to say that when I first read your original post, I did think it had a bit of a critical tone. Reading back though, I can't see any reason for that (call it pride Wink), and I know how difficult it can be to convey tone in forums. No hard feelings here, certainly.

Keep up the good work!

Just take a deep breath and relax….read what I said again especially the last line.

To be honest with you reading what you said earlier gives anyone the impression that you are here just to say that you did this in the past...or at least this is how I read it. But when I saw that you are offering the others the opportunity of seeing your work I praised you in my last line. It is my view of you, and I don't think that what I think of you or what you think of me is that important to both of us, your work will show the others who you are…. You did good job and others might help you in tweaking it.

In my case, although I have programmed in the past but my limited knowledge of Linux, and PHP hinders the help that I can offer, so I do my best to cover this by donating as much as I can….I really wish if everyone else who can donate do the same….

So please, in the future, do not post and be critical of others (including myself) in this manner, I have done nothing to deserve it.

I've been here for sometime and I never criticized anyone's work in a bad way -use the search button- so that nonsense you said about me is not going to make my attitude better cause my attitude is already perfect...but I can assure you that I do not have bad feeling about you….arguing in the internet is like….-you know the rest-

Just relax....and let your work talk about you..and do not worry about what i think of you......

I absolutely agree with you about forking. That's exactly why I did it in the first place. My project has entirely different goals, and TF actually is better becuase of that in some respects. I wanted to create a next-gen web app that was more like a desktop-app than a php script. I think I've created that, but there are certain problems with that.

For example, it is not backwards compatible with older browsers, ones that are too old for all the fancy javascript and ajax. If you have anything less than IE5.0, FF 1.5, or Opera 8, you can't use it. This is where TF is good, becuase its legacy support and capatability is great. I saw a forum post where someone made TF compatible with a PDA or something, thats pretty cool and really isn't possible with TJ. And for the most part, I've recoded alot of things, but they are inherently similar and alot of the hacks and features in TJ were garnered from these forums.

As to torrentjax.com, well....you sneaky monkey, I shouldn't have bothered to blur out the URL should I? :-p

As dedicated as I have been to development of TJ, I have had ZERO time to develop any sort of website or install a forum for it............yet.

Yes, you did, but it was a direct contradiction to what you spent your entire post saying. If you realized that you were incorrect, you should have modified what you had said rather than changing your attitude in your last line. I am more than willing to share my work with the community, but not until I am satisfied with it. I would think that is expected, that released code should live up to a certain degree of quality before being made public. Perhaps that is just my opinion.

No friend I did not realize that I was incorrect, from where you got that??? What I said was that when I saw you are offering the others the opportunity to test what you did I praised you…that is it!

Well, since you asked, I'll tell you. I had trouble understanding your english. And your overabundance of punctuation marks does not help, either.

I didn't say it sooner becuase I didn't want to be mean.
